Atacora was the first king of the Atacora Dynasty. The largest mountain range in West Africa, the Atacora Mountains, was named after him. Atacora war der erste K\u00f6nig der Dynastie Atacora. Nach ihm wurde die gr\u00f6\u00dfte Bergkette Westafrikas, das Atacora-Gebirge, benannt. Er hat die Dorfbewohner vor den Panthern gerettet, indem er sie in seinem K\u00f6nigspalast z\u00e4hmen lie\u00df. Heute findet man noch im k\u00f6niglichen Palast in Djougou Spuren der K\u00e4fige der Panther, au\u00dferdem Jagdwerkzeuge des K\u00f6nigs, etc.. Man hat gesagt, der K\u00f6nig Atacora sei so stark wie ein Fels, wie die Berge- deshalb auch der Name. Ein Departement in Benin ist auch nach ihm benannt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Youss Atacora au-dessus de vous :<br>Je suis un prince du royaume de Djougou de la dynastie des Atacora. La plus grande cha\u00eene de montagnes d&#8217;Afrique de l&#8217;Ouest, les monts Atacora, a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9e en son honneur. Il a sauv\u00e9 les villageois des Panth\u00e8res en les apprivoisant dans son palais royal. Aujourd&#8217;hui, on trouve encore des traces des cages de panth\u00e8res dans le palais royal de Djougou, ainsi que des outils de chasse du roi, etc. On dit que le roi Atacora est fort comme un rocher, comme les montagnes &#8211; d&#8217;o\u00f9 son nom.
